Why You Have a High Right Hip & Pelvic Tilt

Why Do So Many People Have a Right-Side Pelvic Tilt?

If you’re struggling with a high right hip, pelvic tilt, or neuromuscular imbalance, you’re not alone.

In a recent video, we explored an often-overlooked cause of pelvic rotation and a consistently high right hip daily driving.

When we drive, especially for long periods, our bodies engage in a highly repetitive, asymmetrical activity. The right side of the body is constantly involved: from pressing the gas and brake pedals to slight postural shifts behind the wheel. Over time, this repetitive movement pattern leads to neuromuscular imbalances.

What Happens to the Body?

A common cause of pelvic tilt and a high right hip is neuromuscular imbalance. The right side of your body becomes more efficient at recruiting muscles, especially from repetitive actions like driving. This creates an uneven gait, where each leg uses different muscles, reinforcing the imbalance. Pelvic Tilt and Rotation: Because the left side doesn’t keep up, the pelvis tilts and rotates. This often leads to a visibly higher right hip.

Foot Structure Breakdown: Driving also reinforces the structure of your right mid-foot arch. Meanwhile, the left arch weakens, affecting your gait and altering how your foot strikes the ground with every step.

These biomechanical shifts compound over time, creating lasting imbalances in posture and movement.
